LONDON CALLING – MARCH 2012 (PART 1)

Two weeks ago me and my friends Christina, Anke & Anna went to London for a shopping trip. It was also a great way to celebrate my 28th birthday & to enjoy our little 3-day break. We booked a house in Camberwell (kind of… the taxi drivers always had trouble finding it, because the place was ‘unknown’) through Airbnb & enjoyed the house of a very artistic couple with a great taste.
The combo of us four resulted in long breakfasts with cava (every single day), too many hours of hair styling & beauty discussions, SHOP-SHOP-SHOPPING, mini shoots in the garden & lazyness in the evening.
My friend Julie, who studies in London at the moment, joined us all on our trips in the city. Sex & the city all over again. (minus the ‘sex’ part, plus an extra shopaholic girl on the loose)

Three days just weren’t enough to cover our plans. We only did a third of what we first intended to do. Luckily, we’ve all been to London several times, so we could skip the touristic part and go straight to what we’re best at; shopping!
We tried out make-up in several shops, went to the best mexican restaurant ever to celebrate my birthday, saw the ‘phantom of the opera’ musical, woke up one hour too early because I forgot to change my clock, got feather extensions at Topshop, the girls tasted some cupcakes (not my fortay), enjoyed some super cute puppylove-at-first-sight during our busride, wore hippie birthday crowns & crazy hats, took creepy polaroids, … We love London!

We’ve all decided to make it a little tradition and do this getaway once a year. Maybe even one or two days extra, so we can also check out the nightlife, go vintage shopping, visit an exhibition or two, enjoy the sun (yes!), sip a cocktail (or more), go to some gigs, visit places we haven’t seen yet, eat many english breakfasts, take some time to do a photoshoot,…
